Mommyism Mondays will be a collection of things that I have learned, realized or experienced since I've become a mother.
Mommyism #1 - This is a quote from a cup that someone gave me at my baby shower.
"Babies have wonderful way of teaching us how little sleep we really need"
This has been so right for me for about the last month or so. This is my sleep schedule:
10:00pm - 1:40am - Sleep
1:40am - 3:30am - Awake
3:30am - 4:30am - Sleep
4:30am - 10:00pm AWAKE!!!!!
So maybe an average of 4 hours of sleep a night. But I manage to wake up, go to work and do everything else I have to do. I don't know how I do it.
I use to get cranky and annoyed when I didn't get enough sleep before I had the babe. Plus I've read so many articles about how important it is for your body/brain to get enough sleep, but I guess that doesn't really matter after you've had a baby....PS this only applies to women BTW because my mister still gets PLENTY of sleep to the point that I am so jealous and sometimes makes a huge ruckus, in hopes that he will wake up (which never happens)
Then I wonder, since I'm awake more hours than before shouldn't I get more things done? I don't. It still takes me 2 days to fold laundry, I have to run errands during my lunch breaks, sometimes (more than I'd like to admit at least) no time to even look presentable to the world and no where to add a work out routine in.
I know! I'm baffled too. I try to think about what I use to do with my free time before I had the babe (probably sleep) but I just can't remember anything before I got pregnant.
So in conclusion, there's some type of amazing switch that turns on automatically once you pop a child out that give you the power to keep going and going like the energizer bunny (without the drum because I don't want to give up any of those precious four hours) at least thats the only way I can explain this phenomenon.
Or it might also be the huge cup of coffee that I have to drown myself every morning.
On a side note: I've noticed several blogs that have these themed days, so I decided to follow along and hope that I can keep up with it. Obviously mommyism mondays, work out wednesdays - where I will talk about my favorite workouts, and muffin top fridays which I haven't figured out what I'll be talking about there, so please if any of you have suggestions it will be greatly appreciated!!
